The Dojo strives to instill personal discipline, confidence, focus, total fitness and self-defense abilities in our kids. Our training system has been designed to help kids stay motivated and feel good about their progress. We believe our instructors have such impact with the children that they must have specific training in the skills of goal setting and motivation, so each one is fully trained and certified to work with children of all ages.
The Dojo now offers Home-School Karate for 1st grade and up on Monday and Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:15. Older home-schooled students can participate in a teen/adult class on the same days from 11:45 to 12:30.
Want to make sure that karate is right for your kids? That's exactly what our Beginner Course is designed to help you find out. We teach only the fundamentals at this level – the basic punches, kicks and techniques. These classes are for everyone, at any level of fitness. This is where we all make sure that karate is a good fit in the lives of your kids.
Our Dojo Tiny Tigers group is for younder kids starting at age 3 1/2. Their classes last 30 minutes and are available every day of the week except Friday.
The Dojo Dragons group is for ages 7 to 12. Classes last 45 minutes and are available every day except Thursday.
Our Black Belt Course, which is by invitation only, is the program designed to take our students to first degree Black Belt level. Black Belt Course membership is offered to students who have acquired the basic skills taught in the Beginner Course, have demonstrated a willingness to learn and a commitment to personal discipline in class, and who have the full support of their parents. This is where we introduce the full range of our curriculum as well as one-on-one sparring, board breaking, and training with protective pads. The Black Belt Course takes our students on a remarkable, personal journey to one of the greatest accomplishments they will make in their lives – earning a Black Belt!
This Masters Course is for students who have an even bigger goal – getting to 2nd degree Black Belt and higher- and who wish to enhance their training by learning additional skills. This is where we teach grappling and competition weapons such as the nunchuku, the bo, and the kama. In the Master's Course, we also teach defenses against clubs, knives and guns. A commitment to more advanced physical training is a must in this program, which is open to students who have attained the rank of Blue Belt.
